Privacy notice

What I keep about you, and why.

Nothing is sold here and nobody registers a name through this site, so there is very little to collect. What exists is whatever arrives in a message. This site sets no cookies and runs no analytics.

Responsible for your data: Ruslan KasyanovPrivacy contact: [email protected]

The short version

  • There is no form here. What I hold is whatever you put in a message to me.
  • Nominet holds the registrant details of the names on my tag. Those are mine, not a visitor’s.
  • I never sell your data or use it for marketing.
  • This website sets no cookies and tracks nobody.
  • You can ask to see, correct or delete your data at any time.

Who is responsible

The person responsible for your personal data (the “controller” in data protection law) is Ruslan Kasyanov, Sadova St. 20, Sheludkivka village, Chuhuiv District, Kharkiv Region, 63440, Ukraine. For any privacy question or request, email [email protected].

What I collect

  • When you write to me: your name, the address you wrote from, your message and my replies. This site carries no form at all: nothing is posted to the server, so there is no request log and no record of consent.
  • Abuse reports and complaints: whatever you send, the evidence attached and the record of what was done about it.
  • For the names on my tag: the registrant’s name, postal address, email address and phone number. Nominet requires those details for a registration to exist, and here they are my own.
  • Server records: the ordinary access logs every website keeps, IP addresses among them, held by the hosting company.

I do not ask for passport details, dates of birth or bank card numbers through this website.

The registry is the exception, and the request is not mine. Nominet checks the name and address of every registrant against its own sources, and where they cannot be confirmed it writes to the registrant for evidence: photo identification, and something showing the address. Whatever you send that way goes to Nominet. I never see it, and I never ask for it.

Who receives it

  • Nominet UK, the .UK registry, receives registrant details for every domain. Nominet handles that data under its own privacy notice and publishes or releases some of it under its policies.
  • My email provider, Google (Gmail), which carries and stores our correspondence.
  • The company that hosts this website: Friendhosting (Netherlands). The server’s own logs sit on its machines, and it processes the technical data every web request involves, such as IP addresses.
  • Cloudflare, which delivers this site. Whatever you open comes to you through it, so it knows the address you came from and which page you wanted; its own privacy policy applies to that.
  • Authorities or courts, where the law requires it, and hosting providers or the police when this is needed to deal with abuse.

I do not sell personal data or use it for marketing. I am based outside the United Kingdom, so your data is handled outside the UK. I apply the same safeguards to it as I would inside the UK.

How long I keep it

  • Ordinary correspondence that leads nowhere, in my mailbox: 12 months.
  • Registrant details and correspondence about a name: while the name sits on my tag, and for 6 years after that.
  • Server access logs: as long as the hosting company keeps them, which is not something decided here.
  • Abuse reports and complaints: 6 years after the case is closed.

Your rights

You can ask me for a copy of your personal data. You can also ask me to correct it, delete it, limit how I use it, object to its use, or send it to you in a portable format. Some data cannot be deleted while a domain is registered, because Nominet requires it. I reply within 5 working days where I can, and always within one month.

If you are in the UK and unhappy with how I handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk). Please contact me first so that I can try to put it right.
